Wooden Flooring
Our wooden flooring is available in solid wood and engineered forms. There are pros and cons to each type of wooden flooring.
Engineered wooden flooring is constructed of layers of plywood and the outer layer consists of a thick veneer of solid wood. This type of wooden flooring is more versatile and can be used in rooms such as bathrooms or kitchens, where solid oak flooring is not normally recommended. Engineered wooden flooring has the benefit of having a higher resistance to heat and moisture and will not expand and contract.
As the name suggests, solid wooden flooring is constructed purely of solid wood. Solid wood is a beautiful material to use for flooring, however, it is not recommended for use in rooms where there is the potential for increased moisture levels, such as kitchens and bathrooms. Solid wood floors have the tendency to expand and contract. Therefore, you should only ever use wooden flooring on ground level or higher so as to keep it well away from possible sources of moisture.
